We are using exon capture methods to generate high quality sequence data for 1000-2000 orthologous genes, from all mammals native to the Australo-Papuan region (around 500 taxa).

We aim to include representatives of recognised subspecies, as well as recently extinct species. Samples are being sourced from tissue and specimen collections already in Australian and international museums, including type specimens where possible.
